My Best Buffalo Wings Recipe: Sweet, Sticky, Finger Lickin PerfectionBrooke McLay
There’s chicken wings, and then there’s Buffalo Wings that are so good they make you lick your fingers like a mad man. These are those sorts of wings. These wings are just a teensy bit feisty with heat, rich with the sticky-sweet flavor of brown sugar and absolutely, entirely, and totally, ridiculously splendid. If you’ve purchased yourself a carton full of chicken wings for the Super Bowl, this is really the only way to cook them up. Toss the sauce together now, let them cook all day, and you’ll have perfect wings just in time for game day.
- Sweet & Sticky Buffalo Wings
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup tabasco, or Louisana-style hot sauce
- 4 tablespoons brown mustard
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
In a medium saucepan, stir all ingredients together over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved. Pour over 4-5 pounds of chicken wings. Cook in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for 1 hour, then reduce the oven to 250 and bake for 4 hours more, stirring every hour or so to coat the chicken with the sauce.
Serve with bleu cheese dressing or ranch dressing for dipping alonside celery slices. Happy Super Bowl Sunday!
