New Zodiac Signs 2011: Did Your Sign Change? Will You Change?

There’s quite the fuss about whether or not the new zodiac signs that were released today means your astrological sign changed. People everywhere are having an identity crisis. Am I a Gemini or a Taurus? Am I a Virgo or a Leo? What does it all mean?

Well, Professor Parke Kunkle of the Minnesota Planetarium Society opened his mouth and said the Zodiac had a problem with the dates. Not only is the Earth aligned differently today than it was in 3000 BC, but we’ve also been leaving the constellation Ophiuchus out of the equation. So, Kunkle added them back in, told the world about it, and the brains of those who believe in astrology all exploded as we tried to figure out if taking the new job was really the wrong move, and whether or not we want potato leek soup or anise squash soup for dinner. Yep, your astrological signs also determine your food cravings, too. See if you changed zodiac signs after the jump.

What does it all mean? Well, if you’re suffering from an identity crisis, breathe. It may not have changed. CNN claims it hasn’t changed because the axis is irrelevant for the tropical zodiac that Western astrology is read from. If you still think you changed, try checking out what your new sign means. Perhaps it’ll explain some recent changes in behavior or your new-found love of a food you despised not too long ago.

For instance, did you know that there are spice blends for each sign? Aries need hot pepper, Geminis got nuts for, well, nuts, and Virgos are all about the corn. Check out your culinary astrology and see if you can relate to the food that matches your old or supposed new astrological sign…if you even think there’s weight to this astrology thing at all.
