Playdough CookiesBrooke McLay
Rainbow everything is popping up around the blogosphere. And why not? There’s something sunshiney and insprational about bright colored, rainbow hued snacks. The problem is, some of those treats take so much time to pull together, such skill to layer with precision, that you lose some of the fun of the snack in the very making of it. Which is why this recipe for Playdough Cookies is one of my favorite rainbow treats. The recipe uses premade sugar cookie dough, and is so quick and easy to prepare that even your tots can help.
- 1 tube prepared sugar cookie dough
- gel coloring in red, orange, yellow, green, and blue
- 1/2 cup flour
Slice sugar cookie dough into five equal portions. Use the gel food coloring to color each piece of dough a different color. Add as much flour as needed to keep the dough from becoming sticky.
Break the dough into little pieces, twirl into ropes, then twist the ropes together to form ping-pong ball sized rounds. Place the rounds on a cookie sheet. Bake in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes, or until set. Cool, serve, and enjoy!
