Safari Snacks, a Healthy Trail Mix Your Kids Will Love!

When venturing across the Pride Lands of Africa, one is bound to need a snack! These Safari Snacks are just what every healthy lion king and kid need to keep going. This healthy trail mix, inspired by The Lion King, is healthy and nutritious, featuring nuts, dried fruit and beneficial coconut oil and no added sugar. In addition to being healthy, it is also incredibly delicious, with a hint of sea salt and dark chocolate. Your kids won’t know how nourishing this tasty snack is!

Safari Snacks
Serves 16 (1 oz per person)

  • 1 cup roasted, unsalted pistachios (unshelled)
  • 1 cup roasted, unsalted cashews
  • 1 tsp. coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 cup dried, unsweetened cherries
  • 1/4 cup 60% dark chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Place pistachios and cashews into a mixing bowl. Pour coconut oil over the nuts and toss to coat. Sprinkle sea salt over nuts and toss to coat again.

Spread nuts on small baking sheet and bake for 4-5 minutes. Remove from oven and let nuts cool completely.

Mix nuts in a bowl with cherries and dark chocolate chips. Eat and enjoy!

Makes 16 1-ounce servings.
