Simple 3-Step Eggnog Frozen YogurtKelsey Banfield
I couldn’t help myself, when I bought a quart of low-fat eggnog the other day I had to wonder if it could be whipped into frozen yogurt. To give it a try I strained about a cup of regular vanilla yogurt with some cheese cloth, added in the eggnog and some flavorings and sugar and churned it in the ice cream maker. Low and behold, it worked! It was creamy and smooth with a delicious eggnog flavor. It was indeed like sipping my favorite holiday drink, on in frozen yogurt form!
3-Ingredient Eggnog Frozen Yogurt
1 1/2 cups low-fat vanilla yogurt
1 cup low-fat eggnog
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon rum extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground nutmeg
1. Strain the yogurt by pouring it into a strainer lined with cheesecloth and letting it sit for 5 – 6 hours.
2. Mix the strained yogurt, eggnog, extracts and spices together in bowl. Pour it into the ice cream maker and churn according to directions. Freeze the yogurt in a container until chilled. Serve!
