Cyrus Star Jonah Hill Talks About His Scar, Being a Bad Kid & How Hell Never Let Down His ParentsSunny Chanel
If you happen to be cursed with having a “bad” kid, you probably would spend your time waiting, begging or just endlessly yearning for your rebellious offspring to have some kind of epiphany. Luckily for his parents, Jonah Hill had one such awakening…
The star of the new film Cyrus, told Rolling Stone that, “I was, like, not a good kid.” But something did snap him out of his misbehaving ways. And he has a great big scar to prove it and to remind him to stay on track. When he just fifteen he was smoking weed, getting bad grades and pretty much “acting out.” One big reason why he went wild? His mom was battling cancer and he believed she was going to die (luckily, she has made a full recovery). One night he and a pal snuck out of the house and went joyriding. The SUV they were in flipped over and Johah’s arm was severely injured. When he awoke after the accident he overheard the doctors pondering if they would have to amputate his arm, meanwhile his ill mother was in the room crying. “I said to myself, ‘I’ll never let them down ever again.’ I said, ‘I’m going to be f**kin’ successful. I’m going to resurrect what I put these people through by being a little a**hole.’ So I look at this scar every day. That reminds me to work hard.”
Lesson learned, but he had to learn it the hard and painful way. And he really made a promise on that whole success thing. I’m sure his parents are super proud of him now.
