Dancing With the Stars: Last Mom StandingAD Lynn
It looked as if the theme of this season’s Dancing With the Stars might be: Moms Rule! DWTS contestants Kate Gosselin, Pamela Anderson, and Niecy Nash have a total of 13 children between them. And yet, Gosselin and Anderson were booted early, making Nash the last mom standing. And as of last night, it looks as if her reign may be coming to an end. Here’s our take:
The Reno 911 and Clean House star ,who calls motherhood her greatest accomplishment (her kids are Dominic, 18, Donielle, 15, and Dia, 10), started out the season strong. Carrie Ann Inaba called her energy “Fantastic!” And she won my heart when she told Us magazine that she was dancing “for every girl who’s not a size 2.”
And yet, Niecy Nash is simply not dancing at the same level as Olympic skater Evan Lysacek and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger (my money’s on Nicole). Sure, Nash is head and shoulders above Gosselin, but there’s only one winner. And last night Niecy, who performed a Tango and Paso Doble with partner Louis Van Amstel, came in dead last.
I’ll continue pulling for Niecy until the votes are in (tune in tonight!), and I hope the rest of you moms will too, but I’m prepared for the worst. Of course, coming in close behind a world-class figure skater and a woman who sings and dances for a living? Makes losing look almost like a win.
