Jessica Simpson's Family and Friends Support Her by Joining Weight WatchersShana Aborn
Jessica Simpson is getting by – or should we say, getting down to size – with a little help from her friends.
As everyone who even casually follows celeb news knows, Jessica has a multimillion-dollar deal with Weight Watchers to drop an unwanted 70 pounds by using their eating plan. Unlike other famous mothers who snapped back to post-baby size faster than you can say “Blue Ivy,” Jess has been struggling with her weight ever since becoming pregnant with her daughter, Maxwell Drew.
Now she has a big support system on her side. RadarOnline reports today that a large group of her family and friends have all joined Weight Watchers to help encourage her to keep working toward her goal.
“Jessica’s mom Tina Simpson is doing Weight Watchers, her assistant is doing it, people that work for her fashion company are doing it, Jess has enlisted everyone around her to try and lose weight,” a source says.
The interview also reveals that Jessica hasn’t been as good about sticking to her diet as she ought to be. At her birthday party recently, she indulged in a “pig-out” session that included her favorite fried foods. If that wasn’t an isolated incident, then that would explain why she’s having trouble losing more than a pound per week.
But she swears all that is about to change!
The source says Jess has had it with junk food until the weight comes off. “Jess has really focused on getting back into shape, and with her mom and friends and co-workers doing Weight Watchers, she really thinks she’s going to be able to start quickly dropping the weight.”
It’s always helpful to have pals on your side – and maybe seeing her mom and colleagues counting points and bringing WW frozen meals into the lunchroom will prompt her to stay on target.
Still, it’s gotta be rough to be in the spotlight not for your talent or motherhood skills, but for the numbers on your scale. Wishing Jessica strength, persistence and a sense of humor as she works toward her goals.
