Mark Wahlberg Takes Back Controversial 9/11 CommentsChris Rogers
Celebrity dad Mark Wahlberg may be getting a lot of publicity lately, but not for the reasons he may want. The producer of Entourage recently made light of the September 11 attacks saying he could have saved the day had he been on the plane that struck one of the twin towers.
Mark originally made the comments in an interview with Men’s Journal, saying, “If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.'”
After a lot of flack for his ignorant comments, Wahlberg is retracting his statement and now saying, “To suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible. To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with.”
Mark adds, “I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention.”
What do you think of Mark’s apology? Is it sincere or a PR move?
