Paul Rudd hosted Saturday Night Live last night and has a new movie opening next week, How Do You Know. But did YOU know that Paul is a dad, a writer and a Kansan? Here are 5 things about Paul Rudd for your reading pleasure!
Paul is a dad – Paul and his wife Julie have a son, Jack.
Paul is a not just an actor, he’s a writer – Paul co-wrote the screenplay for the 2008 movie, Role Models. Rudd also starred in the hilarious flick, along with Seann William Scott.
Paul Rudd was raised in Kansas – Paul grew up in Overland Park, Kansas. He was the Student Body President of his high school and attended the University of Kansas.
Paul has an American father and a British mother. Paul has one sister, who is three years younger.
Paul uses his fame to do good – Rudd, Jason Sudeikis and Rob Riggle were all co-hosts for a charity poker event last summer to help a Kansas City children’s hospital. Paul and his friends brought in other celebs for the event like Will Ferrell, Will Arnett, George Wendt. The event raised close to $100,000 in one day for Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Bonus Item – Paul ad-libbed one of the best scenes in The Forty Year Old Virgin – In the 2005 Judd Apatow classic comedy, Paul Rudd came up with one of the best scenes in the funny flick. Paul plays the role of David, a goofy friend of main character Andy (Steve Carrell). A scene in Virgin that makes me laugh hard is when David (Rudd) and Cal (Seth Rogen) are putting each other down, playing a video game:
David: You know how I know you’re gay?
David: You like Coldplay.
