Stella McCartney: Celeb Mom Designing For The Olympics

Fashion designer Stella McCartney is planning a venture that’s a little further from New York Fashion Week, and a little closer to the 2012 London Olympics. The daughter of Sir Paul McCartney, and mom to three kids Miller, Bailey and Beckett (with British publisher husband Alasdhair Willis) has been named the creative director for the British Olympic team.

The designer will be in charge of the team’s line of Adidas apparel for the games that will take place in her home country two years from now. So how different will this be for McCartney from her usually high-fashion designing? “I have to make it look good on TV, I have to make it feel good for the athletes, I have to make it work–technically it has to do its job,” she told People.

But not to worry, the designer, who is expecting her fourth child in the fall, will make sure not to get in the way of making these products high on performance.
