"Teen Mom" Leah Messer Turns to God After Bombshell ConfessionShana Aborn
As the saying goes, a little confession is good for the soul – or so Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer believes.
On Tuesday, the young mother admitted on Twitter to something she’d been denying for a while: She was unfaithful to her ex-husband, Corey Simms, the father of her twins Ali and Aleeah.
“Okay, I cheated a week before my wedding people,” she said curtly. “I’m tired of hearing about it. At least I’m not a coward, and can admit my faults!”
Naturally, she got flak for her indiscretion, but Leah fired back at her critics: “It was one of my regrets in my life, stop accusing and pointing fingers,” she tweeted. “Things happen to people different ways. #GodsMyJUDGE”
Looks like she’s taking that hashtag seriously. Since her startling confession, her tweets have been taking a distinctly spiritual tone.To a friend who told her to ignore the online haters, Leah replied, “Yeah, I know. I don’t care. I’m not stressed because I am way too blessed! (:”
Other recent messages include “I’m going to let God lead my girls, and myself through life the way he wants us to go!”, “i’m tired of running from god, when he knows what’s best for my life!” and “He’s a great god!”
Leah also raved about the Natalie Grant song “Better Hands Now,” a spiritual ballad with lyrics like: “I am strong all because of you/I stand in awe of every mountain that you move/Oh I am changed, yesterday is gone/I am safe from this moment on.”
Plenty of fans are glad Leah’s found religion, sending supportive messages like “The best gift you can give to your little girls is the knowledge of God!” and “I know it’s hard to let go and let GOD deal with it all, that’s exactly what I am learning now, but he will get you through it!”
And, of course, she’s getting plenty of love from friends like fellow Teen Moms Chelsea Houska and Maci Bookout. “I love my @tm2leahdawn, :)” Chelsea told her. Chelsea and Kailyn Lowry are busy planning a visit to Leah soon to console her over the miscarriage she recently suffered.
Will the three young mothers be sharing a pew at church on Sunday? And has Leah really found religion for good, or is she just trying to polish her image in the wake of her regrettable mistake?
