They're Engaged! "Bachelorette" Emily Maynard Tweets Pic of Herself and JefShana Aborn
The roses are gone, but the ring is on!
The Bachelorette star Emily Maynard made her final choice on last night’s season finale – and she couldn’t be more thrilled. As all fandom now knows, Jef Holm is the guy who won her heart.
Naturally, rumors had been flying for weeks about the ultimate outcome. Some reports said that Emily originally chose finalist Arie Luyendyk Jr., but that he turned her down and left her heartbroken. Others said that Emily decided she wasn’t in love with either one and left the show still single.
Nope and nope. Emily had already made up her mind by the end of the final date in Curacao, and she cut the suspense short by letting Arie go before he even had a chance to propose.
The road now clear, Emily met Jef and told him, “I really do feel like you’re my soul mate. You are the perfect person for me.”
Jef replied, “”I think it’s so rare that people find the person that they’re meant to be with. I think it’s so incredibly meant to be that you and I found each other like this here and I’m so grateful that we did.”
Then, promising that his question would be “a forever thing,” Jef produced a sparkling Neil Lane ring and asked Emily to marry him.
Today, Emily tweeted this picture as she and Jef prepared to greet the public for the first time as an engaged couple on Good Morning America.Emily’s decision wasn’t made lightly. As a single mother – the first in the show’s history – she had to make her choice based not only on her own feelings, but also on the suitors’ potential as a stepfather for daughter Ricki.
In Jef, she’s found a man who cares not only about her, but also about the planet and its people. His company, People Water, uses sustainable bottles and donates clean water to underserved areas for every sale.
He’s also ready and eager to help raise the special little girl in his life. “I’m so excited to meet Ricki,” he told Emily. “I’ll teach her how to play sports and I’ll cheer her up when she’s sad and laugh with her when she’s funny. And I’ll be there for her. I want to show her how to fall in love and have a love story that lasts forever, because I’ll love you forever.”
Congratulations to all three!
What do you think? Did Emily make the right choice?
