Top 10 Happiest Couples in Hollywood and How They Do ItMonica Bielanko
Irreconcilable differences oft seems to be a trending topic in Hollywood, there are a bunch of folks you don’t often hear about because they are making it work.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are my all-time favorite celebrity couple.
There is no question these two are happy. Yeah, sure, we never know what goes on behind closed doors but if this couple files for divorce any time soon we all might as well give up because if they can’t make it work, we’re all totally screwed.
They may be one of the longest married couples in Hollywood, but a bunch of other couples are giving them a run for happily ever after. Can you guess who they are? Some have been married for decades and one couple hasn’t even been married for ten years but I still think they’ve got what it takes to the end.
Check it out. The Top 10 Happiest Couples in Hollywood with advice on how they’ve made it work so far. Am I missing someone? Who isn’t on the list that you think should be here? Anyone on the list who you think shouldn’t be?
Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa 1 of 10These two hotties have been married for 14 years since meeting on the set of All My Children. If LIVE With Kelly producer Gelman had any sense he'd put Mark in Regis' empty chair immediately because these two have excellent chemistry. About making it work Kelly has said, "The first year of marriage is so tough, and we fought constantly, these tiny things becoming big accusations. Then we looked at each other one day and said, 'We're in this for the long haul, so let's make it fun.' It's not that it's not going to be work. You work on your marriage the same way you work at your job. But we have friends who have gotten divorced over tiny things that spiral out of control, and no one was willing to reach out, take the other person's hand, and say, 'I'm not going anywhere.' And sometimes it can be that simple. We argue, but we have an allegiance to each other, and we have beautiful children, and from what I hear, divorce sucks. It's not something I think I have the fortitude to go through."

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn 2 of 10Anyone who watched these two in the eighties flick Overboard has been rooting for them for the nearly three decades they've been together. Goldie has said they had a different kind of romance from the very beginning. "The beautiful thing was he had children, and I had children - it was a different kind of romance because we loved the kids so much, it was all about the family. When we got together we had much bigger, broader views which was how much could he love my children.'' she has said.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner 3 of 10I've said it before and I'll say it again, this couple is cool as hell. They obviously make family a priority and are rarely photographed without their kids. Thank God Ben ditched J-Lo and had the good sense to marry a down-to-earth gal who keeps his wilder side in check... most of the time. The 39-year-old actress said that she would "do anything" for her husband, and she has said about his thoughtfulness toward her. Affleck is apparently fond of giving his wife gifts, and even presented her with two diamond rings, one for each daughter. Wonder if she got a third after little Samuel's arrival?
David and Victoria Beckham 4 of 10Who would've thought Posh and Becks from the UK would end up being one of the happiest families in Hollywood? I've actually come around to digging these two crazy kids. They seem to be on the same page with family and fame and are always out and about with their gorgeous kids. They've weathered some rough patches (at least according to the media, but who really knows?) and are still going strong after 13 years. My favorite thing about them is they obviously consider their children a priority and are always photographed doing stuff with their super cute boys or bringing baby Harper along on date nights.
William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman 5 of 10Married for 15 years and the parents of two girls, this couple is still going strong. Embarrassingly strong. The two are known for their PDA packed outings and often rave about each other. Macy has said there is nothing you shouldn't be prepared to do to keep your love life hot including role play. He says "Role play, whatever you need. The point is, you've got to set your sights. You've got to say, 'Do we want to make this hot? Or do we not?' And if you do, then do it! Don't give yourself excuses." Sounds like dude knows what's up.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson 6 of 10If I had to pick any celebrity to be married to it would be this guy. Yeah yeah, Brad Pitt is the obvious choice but no. If someone held a gun to my head and said who's it gonna be I'd say Tom Hanks every time. Rita has said she still really likes Tom after all these years. "I think that's very, very important [to want to be married]. You got to want to be married to the person you're married to. We still like each other a lot."
John Travolta and Kelly Preston 7 of 10These two met on the set of a movie in 1987 and have been married for more than 20 years. I don't care for the rumors surrounding Travolta, this man seems like one of the nicest in Hollywood. Losing a child is the biggest heartbreak a couple can go through and these two have come out the other side of a horrible situation with grace and class. John credits his religion and children with keeping the couple together all these years. "Communication is number one, but our church does a lot to help us keep together. When we have issues, we go settle it up. Almost every six months we go and do a retrofit of what we are thinking, what we need and want and we match it up with what the other needs and wants… If you don't do that you kind of get stale a little bit. Certainly our children have kept us tied together."
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick 8 of 10These two look exactly the same today as they did when they got married. Kyra has said the key to staying married for more than 20 years is date nights that end with sex. "We got married when I was really young and we got very lucky. Staying married for so long takes luck and a lot of hard work. We don't have a fantasy marriage... It's all about working on it. If Kevin and I can get dinner, a movie and sex in... that's awesome. If not, just sex and dinner is great."
Warren Beatty and Annette Bening 9 of 10This reformed womanizer has obviously found the love of his life. After meeting Annette on the set of Bugsy the two married in 1992 and had four kids. Warren has credited waiting to get married and have children as one of the reasons the couple has lasted so long. He says he's able to fully appreciate living in the present. The family is obviously a very loving one. The couple's oldest son, Stephen, is transgender and was actually born a girl they named Kathryn after Warren's mom. Stephen, who is now in college and fully living as a man, is a highly intelligent, outspoken advocate of transgender feminism. You can find his brilliant blog here. Both parents are said to fully support their son.
Denzel Washington & wife Paulette 10 of 10Coming up on 30 years of marriage I think Denzel and his wife Paulette have everyone else beat in terms of length of marriage. And they just may be the happiest too. These two met on a TV movie in 1977 and had four kids after getting married. Denzel's secret to marriage just might be the key to their longevity. "Do what my wife tells me and keep my mouth shut!" he ha said with a laugh. Well said, Denzel, well said.
