Reports recently surfaced that Charlie Murphy’s wife and Eddie Murphy’s sister-in-law, Tisha Taylor Murphy, passed away in her sleep on Sunday in the couple’s New Jersey home. Tisha fought cancer for two years before she silently lost the battle. Tisha leaves behind two kids with her husband Charlie, who is an actor and comedian known for his roles on Chappelle’s Show, and BET’s We Gotta Do Better, among others. Read more after the jump.
The couple married in 1997 and had two children, (and Murphy has a third from another relationship) and we can’t help but wonder: What’s next for these kids? Sadly, it’s not totally uncommon for children to be left without a parent after a battle with cancer, but there are always questions about how the children will cope, and what their lives will be like. According to Murphy’s publicist, Lyndsey Jacobs, “The Murphy Family appreciates all of the support they have received from friends and fans and requests privacy during this very difficult time.”
At least we can take comfort in knowing the family is keeping themselves–and the children–out of the limelight during this time; we can only hope it will help in the coping and grieving process.
Now the only question is, where will the kids go from here?
