12 MORE Great Tunes for Summer Entertaining

I’ve already had such a great response to my post earlier today with some new songs for summer entertaining that I decided to pass along a few more of my favorites for summer parties.

We’ve always been particular about what music we play — it’s important to make it fit the occasion. So for a summer party playlist, (more after the break)

… I’ve tried to pick mostly uptempo, fun tracks that carry a summery melody or feel. And like in the previous playlist post, I’ve tried to stay away from songs you might have already been familiar with on hits radio; instead trying to give you some new sounds mixed with some classics.

(If you’re not sure about how to make an iTunes playlist — it’s easy! Check out the simple directions.)

  • Ill Keep My Light In My Window / Alice Russell & Quantic with the Combo Barbaro 1 of 12
Ill Keep My Light In My Window / Alice Russell & Quantic with the Combo Barbaro
Alice Russell is one of my family's favorite artists -- amazing voice and great songs. She should be as popular as Adele! Her new record is great -- a timeless sound -- and this song gives a cool vibe for your summer soiree.

It's hard to have a summer playlist without this amazing, perfect song. Of course, it's easier to buy the full Abbey Road CD, but if you don't want to, you can download it from iTunes.

    100% / Chromeo
If you like the sound of classic electro-funk, you'll fall for the irresistible and exuberant Chromeo. Either the Fancy Footwork or Business Casual albums are well worth picking up, but this less-known album track is a winner.
