How to Create a Coupon BinderHeather Sokol
How cute is this Coupon Clutch?
I feel so much less “crazy coupon lady” when I carry my fun coupon binder than any other coupon system I’ve tried. Beginner couponers can make use of simple coupon envelopes, but as you begin to amass a real collection, it’s time to upgrade the system.
Enter the coupon binder — my favorite system for maximizing coupon savings. Here’s how it works:
Your binder is filled with plastic pages for storing coupons — baseball card pages work, but Coupon Clutch has an amazing set of coupon pages of various sizes. Each coupon has it’s only little pocket. No more flipping through stacks of coupons to find the one you need. Just open to the right page, and you can see exactly what coupons you have. Switching to a coupon binder was the best thing I’ve done for our grocery budget. And, the Coupon Clutch makes me feel pretty stylish when I’m extreme couponing.
To get started with a coupon binder, decide how you want to sort your coupons. The Coupon Clutch deluxe system comes with pages for categorizing your coupons, which keeps you organized as you walk up & down the grocery store aisles. I have also used alphabetizing — that way I don’t have to remember whether I put the chocolate syrup coupon with dessert or canned goods.
The Coupon Clutch features velcro flaps to keep your coupons tucked in nice & tight. There is also a pocket inside — I use it to hold a pair of scissors so I can cart my binder from room to room when I’m clipping coupons. If you can sew, Coupon Clutch even sells a DIY coupon binder pattern. I can’t sew very well, but I think that’s super cool. You know what else is cool?
