For my daughter’s Sweet 16 Party last weekend I made a colorful photo booth area. The kids loved posing together and being silly. A photo booth is a fun idea to put together for almost any type of party or get-together from a birthday party to a wedding, even family reunions. And your guest will love having a souvenir to take home that reminds them of the festive occasion!
I’m sharing some easy ways to make a photo booth at your next party, after the break!
For my daughter’s birthday I created a photo booth area in one corner of our basement. You can set this area up almost anywhere, even outside!
Here what you need:
- 2-3 Plastic Tablecloths that coordinate with your party.
- Tissue Paper Fans. You can make your own, or pick a few up at your local party supply store.
- String and push pins.
- Some props — hats, boas, glasses, microphones, tiaras and a bench or chair.
- Of course, your camera.
You will want to hang up your tablecloths in the back of the area you are using for your photo booth. I attached them to the ceiling of the room. If you are outside, you might need to make a frame or hang the tablecloths from a improvised clothesline.
Then I hung the paper fans from string attached to push pins in the ceiling. I used two different sizes of fans in several different colors. Just tie the string to the base of the pin and stick it in your ceiling. If you are outside, you can hand the strings from a clothesline or long piece of lumber, hung overhead.
That’s it! Now you can have a great time capturing all of those party memories!!
And if you have an iPhone, there are some awesome apps that you can use to get this effect. Doodle Booth:
