The Lone Ranger is Riding Into Disney Infinity

Disney Infinity Lone Ranger TontoJohnny Depp is invading your gaming system!

With the announcement that The Lone Ranger set is joining Disney Infinity (available August 18), that means players will have twice the Depp! Depp’s popular characters Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean and Tonto from Disney’s latest blockbuster The Lone Ranger will both be playable in the upcoming Disney Infinity video game experience. That means they can share adventures in Disney Infinity’s Toy Box Mode, which is awesome.

And just in case you were wondering what Jack Sparrow and Tonto think of each other, check out this video from their first chance meeting:

Of course both Sparrow and Tonto can also play with other characters from Monsters University, The Incredibles, and Cars (more titles to come!) to create original stories fueled only by the player’s imagination. The possibilities are endless!

Disney Infinity, as if you don’t know, is an all-new video game initiative being released in August that brings the beloved characters from Walt Disney and Pixar Studios’ most popular franchises into one video game (sets sold separately)! Players, according to Disney Interactive, will be able to “place real-world toy versions of their favorite Disney characters onto a device called the Infinity Base and transport them into the virtual game worlds of Monsters University, The Incredibles, Cars, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Lone Ranger, as well as into a giant Toy Box.”

I played Disney Infinity at their media launch a few months ago and it is awesome. The Toy Box is especially wonderful as it allows players to combine all of their favorite characters into one adventure and challenge their creativity with the building of endless possibility. It is really amazing.

Welcome to the game, Tonto—and that masked man.
