Let’s be honest — after a long, hard year of momming, what you really deserve most on Mother’s Day is to be waited on hand and foot by your partner and your kiddos. But even if that’s not in the cards, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema might just have the next best thing to it. On May 13, Alamo theaters will be hosting fun-filled Mother’s Day brunch screenings of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Sound of Music, and Mrs. Doubtfire, complete with a yummy meal served right to your seat. (Yes, really.)
In case you’re unfamiliar, watching a movie at Alamo Drafthouse isn’t your typical movie-going experience. At Alamo theaters, you get everything — a full restaurant menu of food, drinks, and refills — brought right to you, as you kick back, relax, and watch a movie. And this Mother’s Day, the folks at Alamo are clearly not messing around. Not only will they be hosting screenings of three of the most awesome movies of all time, but each movie will come along with a special, customized brunch menu.
If you’re anything like me, you’re probably more than a little excited over the Mrs. Doubtfire screening, which comes with a three-course meal that includes a delicious house-made “Birthday Party Cinnamon Roll” — complete with sprinkle icing as an appetizer.
And get this — the entree is “Euphegenia Doubtfire’s Scottish Breakfast,” which includes baked cheddar cheese eggs, sausage, and roasted tomatoes …
… and you can top it all off with this amazing “Helloooo Vanilla Cake” that features cream cheese frosting. Just try holding yourself back from dunking your face in it, Mrs. Doubtfire-style!
But if Mrs. Doubtfire isn’t your speed, then you’ll definitely want to check out the menu options for The Sound of Music and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Those two films also come with drink pairings for each course, depending on the theater.
The Breakfast at Tiffany’s menu looks especially delish, with offerings like the “Aubrey Hepburn Hated Danish Pastries” and “Milk for Cat” (that one’s caviar, people!).
Honestly, it’s beyond …
But hey, The Sound of Music meal options also look amazing. From beef tenderloin schnitzel to chocolate truffles … it’s all incredibly mouthwatering.
No matter which screening option you choose, you pretty much can’t go wrong. So whether you’re looking to take your own mom out for a day of fun, or wanted to drop some hints for how your own kids can treat you, this might just be the perfect way to spend your Mother’s Day. Better start booking those tickets, now!
