If you’ve been following Ashley Graham on social media, or seen some of her fierce photos since she began her career as a swimsuit model, then you know she is all about sending empowering messages when it comes to women and their bodies.
She not only talks the talk when it comes to being proud and confident, she walks the walk — and always seems to feel comfortable in that gorgeous skin of hers, whether she’s posing for a selfie, on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, or posting a video of her workouts on Instagram.
And after seeing this photo shoot she did for the Swimsuits for All campaign which included her beautiful 53-year-old mom, Linda, you are going to fall in love with her a little more. I mean, I can’t even handle the hotness. If you are going to pose with your mother and create a buzz for body-positive awareness, this is the way to do it.
The pair not only look amazing, they exude confidence. Graham says she’s always loved her body from an early age, thanks to her mom and the example she set for her.
As reported by Bustle, she explains in a press release that her mother’s “feel- good attitude toward her own body has shaped my ability to remain positive and self-assured.”
Graham’s experience is proof that feeling good about your body does start at home. And we can set an amazing example for our daughters and sons and show them what true confidence is by having positive dialogue around our bodies.
Not only that, but Linda sings the same inspiring praises of her daughter, saying Ashley got her in a bikini for the first time since the ’80s. (I mean, that body wasn’t meant to be hidden. The proof is in how stunning she looks in the photos!)
Linda goes on to say she never could have done it without her daughter.
“She’s my rock and inspired me at age 53 to be proud of my body again after I lost my own fortitude,” she says.
There’s nothing sexier than seeing a woman who’s confident in her skin, and this mother-daughter duo are setting the bar for how we should all feel about ourselves each and every day. The campaign is sure to make women and girls redirect their focus and realize the importance of being happy, healthy, and accepting your whole self — instead of trying to maintain a certain size or fit into an unrealistic box.
We need to see more body-positive messages like this, not only for our young girls, but for older women who may have forgotten they, too, can wear what they want, when they want and look just as stunning as Graham and her mother.
