Whether or not you consider yourself a “Halloween person,” you have to admit one thing: Seeing tiny babies dressed up in adorable costumes every year is always the main highlight. And every year, the Internet delivers.
We’ve seen babies dressed as Popeye …
And even some toddlers channel Ferris Bueller …
But making headlines today for their adorably festive ensembles are the newborns at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, who were lovingly dressed up by their nurses in hand-knit pumpkin outfits that are almost too cute to handle:
Seriously, how sweet is that?!
According to Stephanie Waite, Senior Public Relations Specialist for Allegheny Health Network, the hospital has been carrying on the tradition of dressing up newborns for the last few years now — and not just for Halloween.
“We had babies dressed as bunnies for Easter, and Santas for Christmas,” Waite tells Babble.
“One of our best-ever dress up days was for National Superhero Day, April 28,” adds Waite, “when we dressed some of our tiny premature NICU babies in superhero outfits.”
As you might imagine, the nurses aren’t the only ones who love the tradition.
“It’s fun for parents and employees, and the response from the public is simply overwhelming,” says Waite. “The photos are ‘liked’ and shared far more widely than any of our social media initiatives. And you can see why — they are simply adorable. People love seeing our AHN babies, and we love to show them off.”
The outfits themselves are purchased from various retail sites, according to Waite, and the lucky babies who get to wear them are also lucky enough to go home in them (much to Mom and Dad’s delight).
Here’s wishing the adorable babies at Forbes Hospital a very Happy Halloween!
