The wait is finally over, y’all! In the wee morning hours, the Instagram gods blessed us with a little Friday surprise: Our first glimpse of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s twins, Sir Carter and Rumi! And let me tell you, it was well worth the wait.
Beyoncé herself shared the twins’ first public photo with fans early Friday, which has naturally sent the internet (and us) into total freakout mode.
As usual, Bey looks like a total queen in the shot. In fact, the photo seems to be styled similarly to that epic maternity shoot she shared back in February, in which the singer was reportedly channeling the goddess Yoruba. Once again, she’s sporting a veil, long flowing gown (or something?), and is surrounded by a backdrop of flowers that almost form a halo around her head.
And while we can’t exactly see that much of the twins in this new pic, who are both cradled in their mother’s arms, it’s pretty clear they’re super adorable.
The photo release also gives us one other little tidbit we didn’t know: So far, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have kept the details surrounding the twins’ birth pretty private, never actually confirming their official birth date. But it now seems safe to say they were born on June 14, since Bey captioned the Instagram photo, “Sir Carter and Rumi, 1 month today.”
In just a few short hours, the Instagram photo has climbed to well over 6.6 million likes, and garnered thousands of congratulatory comments and excited emojis from the #BEYHIVE (naturally).
Now if you’ll excuse us, we’ll just be over here, obsessively hitting refresh on our browser to see if the Queen Bey shares more.
