If you’re a shameless Fixer Upper addict like myself, chances are you’ve been in relative mourning for a few months now, after first hearing the news that Season 5 will be the show’s last. (It’s okay, we’re all in this together.) But last night, we finally learned the real reason why everyone’s favorite HGTV couple is taking a break: Chip and Joanna are pregnant with their fifth child, y’all — and OMG THIS IS NOT THE BEST NEWS EVER OR WHAT?!
Chip spilled the beans himself on January 2, with a sweet Instagram photo that showed the couple comparing their baby “bumps” and a caption that confirmed there’d soon be a “Gaines party of 7.”
And as if that weren’t exciting enough, Joanna took to Instagram today to share a sonogram video of Baby No. 5, which clearly showed the baby’s beating heart.
“Chip swears he can already tell it’s a boy,” wrote Joanna. “Look at the little heartbeat!!”
I’ll admit, I may or may not have needed to breathe into a paper bag after seeing this pop up in my IG feed. But from the looks of Twitter, I’m clearly not alone. Since Chip first announced the news last night, Fixer Upper fans have been pretty much losing it right along with me.
Most people are in agreement that this is basically the best news ever in the history in the world.
And emotional breakdowns/tears of happiness promptly commenced.
Because let’s be real — if 2018 is starting off this good … is it wrong to consider it a sign from above?
Of course, not everyone is 100% pleased with the news …
Like this lady, who feels Baby No. 5 has ruined her chances of being accepted into the Gaines family herself, to live out her days with the goats of Magnolia farm.
Or this guy, whose beauty rest was apparently disrupted by the breaking news.
Meanwhile, others think it could all be downhill from here …
Sigh. It’s true — 2018 may in fact turn out to be an even bigger dumpster fire than 2017 was, but at least we can hold on to this one little ray of joy, now can’t we?
Congrats to Chip and Joanna and the rest of the Gaines family — Baby No. 5 can’t come soon enough!
