Arguably one of the best things about having toddlers during Halloween is the fact that you can still pick their costumes for them, and the results are always adorable. This year, New Jersey mom Eumy Frenkel had the perfect idea: She’d dress her daughter Sydney and her BFF Ryan Freedman (both almost 3 years old) as her favorite TV duo — Chip and Joanna Gaines from HGTV’s Fixer Upper!
And she pulled it off to a T:
“Ryan is a true redhead and Sydney is half Korean,” Frenkel tells Babble, “so we thought it would be the perfect costume! They have definitely seen their moms watching the show, and love seeing ‘big’ versions of themselves on TV!”
Indeed, they are the spitting image of the TV duo … in miniature form! Frenkel said she bought the Waco shirt for “Joanna” (since the Gaines’ business is in Waco, Texas) and a “Magnolia” patch for for “Chip’s” hat (a nod to their business’ name, Magnolia Homes). The rest, she says, came straight from the kids’ closets.
Clearly, these two are prepared to step out in style on ANY day of the week. The pair have been best friends since they were 6 months old — and aren’t strangers to striking a pose.
In fact, if you live in New Jersey, you may have seen them strutting around town in their stylish hipster-eque gray tees …
… or hitting the park together in their coordinating puffy jackets. (Adorbs!)
Frankel says that she and Ryan’s mom are huge fans of Fixer Upper, and that she’s “devastated the show is coming to an end.”
Thankfully, we’ll always have reruns on Netflix — and these amazing Halloween photos to commemorate two of HGTV’s favorite remodeling stars.
Awesome job, mom!
