Dax Shepard’s Real Talk About Kristen Bell’s C-SectionBabble Editors
Childbirth is not for the faint of heart. And Dax Shepard learned this the hard way. On a recent appearance on The Ellen Show, Shepard shared a rather graphic (read: terrifying) depiction of watching wife Kristen Bell give birth to their second child, Delta, via a last-minute C-section. Having already watched Bell endure 15 hours of labor and give birth to his first child Lincoln, Shepard thought he was going into this second birth all prepared.
After 33 hours of labor, Bell was wheeled into the operating room for a C-section, and shit. got. real.
As he explains:
“I had been warned by a lot of different gentlemen, and even my own mother, that said ‘You may not want to watch the baby come out. Maybe not the greatest idea. What they did not warn me about is the C-Section, which is way worse. So, there’s a sheet and then they go ‘The baby’s here!’ and then you peak around the sheet and they’re lifting out the baby but then you notice your wife is completely disassembled! I can see inside of her!”
Watch an exhausted Shepard hilariously discuss his wife’s “disassembled” body and why he’ll need medication if this ever happens again. Yeah, we would, too.
