I don’t know about you, but donuts are my kryptonite. As are french fries. So when I heard that Dunkin’ Donuts was allegedly testing Donut Fries, I instantly started salivating.
I repeat: DONUT. FRIES.
In an email to Babble, a spokesperson for Dunkin’ Donuts confirmed that the food chain is currently testing the fries in select cities, though no further details could be provided at this time. And while there are no official images of the delectable treats thus far, at least one gracious Instagrammer recently took the time to photograph them in all their glory — and they are truly a sight to behold.
UM — would you just look at that fried, sugary goodness?!
Dunkin’ Donuts has been really knocking things out of the park lately. Who can forget their release of Girl Scout cookie-inspired beverages earlier this year? Y-U-M.
And just this month, the fast-food chain announced the launch of their new Dunkin’ Go2 menu, which according to a press release, “allows guests to choose from among three of the brand’s most popular breakfast sandwiches, and purchase two of their go-to favorite at $2, $3 or $5 price points.” The affordable deals include: Two Egg & Cheese Wake-up Wraps® for only $2, two Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches served on English Muffins for $3, and two Egg, Cheese & Bacon Breakfast Sandwiches served on Croissants for $5.
Plus, DD has added a new cold brew coffee flavor to the mix: Cookies & Cream! The bottled cold brew beverages — which already include flavors like Original, Mocha, Espresso, and French Vanilla — are available now in select grocery, drug, and convenience stores, as well mass merchandisers and participating Dunkin’ Donuts throughout the U.S.
But back to the important stuff: Will Donut Fries make it through the test-testing phase and into a Dunkin’ near you? Only time will tell, but I’ll be crossing my fingers and toes in hopes that they do.
And then what’s next? Donut burgers? Donut pizzas? Honestly, I would be in favor of ALL of the above. Let’s make it happen, DD!
