One of our favorite celebs, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, killed the dad game this week with one of the sweetest father-daughter posts we’ve ever seen.
While Johnson’s Instagram feed is mostly filled with photos of his huge muscles or workout routines that put us all to shame, the actor and former wrestler took a moment to share some aspirations he has for his 1-year-old daughter, Jasmine. And they are pretty adorable, I gotta say.
“There are mornings in life where there are no words,” he begins. ” … this is not one of those mornings.”
It was a good talk.

In the post, which has over 2M views (and climbing), Johnson continues:
“Jazzy, let daddy tell you his goals. By 5, you’ll be looking people in the eye when you firmly shake their hand. By 8, you’ll know how to fish, drive daddy’s pick up truck and do cardio. And by 10, you’ll be able to directly say to people, ‘Great job, I like it a lot, but let’s see how we can make it better’. Helluva plan right sweetheart?”
While driving a pickup truck at the tender age of 8 might be a little ambitious, Johnson’s overall message is truly inspiring. He’s not hindering his daughter’s abilities just because she’s a girl. Instead, it’s clear he’s already encouraging Jasmine to be whatever she wants to be, and have the motivation to do it well.
Can we get a slow clap for this guy? Seriously — spreading the message of feminism isn’t just a woman’s job, and it’s precisely Johnson’s way of thinking that gives us all hope for a more female-empowered future.
But this isn’t the first time Johnson has showed he’s a feminist, or expressed some major admiration for the females in his life.
On International Women’s Day this year, Johnson shared a photo collage of the women he says make him “the luckiest SOB on earth.” The sweet photo included little Jasmine, his 15-year-old daughter, Simone, his longtime partner, Lauren, and his mom. There’s no doubt the post spoke volumes about the true loves of his life.
“I come from a family of beautiful, strong, diverse and intelligent women,” he wrote in the photo caption. “They inspire and challenge me daily to become a better man, father and role model. My love and respect for them is boundless.”
Additionally, Johnson has commented on the joy of taking care of Jasmine — almost a decade and a half after having Simone — in last year’s People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue.
“It’s really been this awesome, interesting, fascinating balance between an amazing, beautiful 15-year-old who teaches me, to [her] amazing, beautiful [sister], [an 11-month-old] baby,” described Johnson. “You just hope that you take the lessons that you learned in life and you can apply them properly. I think I’m a good dad.”
We think so, too.More On
