This Fourth-Grade Teacher Made a Back-to-School Music Video for His Students, and It’s Epic

While most teachers send out a lovely “Welcome Back!” letter to kids and parents, this fourth-grade teacher went above and beyond to get his students pumped up for the new school year.

Dwayne Reed, who is teaching his very first class this year, wrote a rap song for his incoming students and recorded a music video to go along with it. As noted in the description of the video, “The song and video emphasize the reality that hard work is a must, but that school and learning can certainly be fun!” We know this approach has garnered respect from students in the past, so it’s certainly worth the effort for a teacher starting their first year.

To say we’re obsessed would be an understatement. With rap lyrics like, “I’m from Chicago, I love eating pizza, and I dressed to impress but I still rock sneakers,” we’re sure he’ll win his class over right away. Going back to school can sometimes be daunting (who wants to see summer come to an end?), but we can definitely see kids being excited to get to class when they have an upbeat teacher like Reed.

We think the kids in Mr. Reed’s class are super lucky and are certainly going to have the most entertaining school year yet!
