10 Fantastic Pieces of X-Files Fan Art on Etsy

Fanatically following your favorite show is commonplace now (see Breaking Bad, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, or Lost). But X-Files was the first. We taped it and re-watched it and talked about it (because we couldn’t tweet about it yet) around the water cooler, literally. There were a lot of water coolers in the not-so distant past.

The series spawned a whole slew of stand-alone episodes featuring Mulder and Scully trying to explain inexplicable phenomenons week after week, but it was the first series with a mythology — an underlying story arc that would come out bit by bit over the whole 9 seasons of the show — and those canonical episodes were some of the most fun to watch. Cancer Man, Aliens, and Mulder’s various informants from Deep Throat to X were all important components of the show. And they have inspired a lot of creative types to memorialize The X-Files through amazing fan art — from typographical prints to beautifully carved wooden chairs.

Check it out and remember, the truth is out there.
