Halloween is full of fun for the little ones — there’s trick-or-treating, pumpkin carving, and of course, costumes. With all of the festive movies playing on TV right now, creative costumes are often inspired. For Karen Ford, Hocus Pocus was the inspiration for a magically festive photoshoot.
Ford started an online photography group, Central Alabama Photographers Connection, about four years ago and hosts a photoshoot once a month. Since it’s October, a spooky shoot was absolutely necessary! She had been dreaming of doing a Hocus Pocus photoshoot for a couple of years, but was finally able to pull it off this year.
The little models had the time of their lives as the Sanderson sisters, and two of them are even sisters in real life! With four girls between 4 and 8 years old, they put an adorable twist on this beloved Halloween movie.
Ford gained interest in photography once her own children had grown up. It started as just something to do and turned into something she truly enjoys doing — she even has her own photography page on Facebook. She does mostly maternity, newborn, and children’s photography, but pushing her boundaries with themed shoots is always fun. Other movie-themed shoots she has done are The Adams Family and The Notebook, and she’s planning to do The Polar Express next month.
