Moms Spill Their Biggest Guilty Pleasures, and Turns Out, We’re Not as Weird as We Thought

Just one look at my Pinterest account, and the evidence of my weekly zoning out time is 100 percent clear. I mean, I have an entire board that’s devoted to nothing but coffee mugs with snarky punchlines on them, for crying out loud! What can I say, though? I have a few guilty pleasures that I dive into every single night after I slump over on the couch in a heap of exhaustion, and that just so happens to be one of them. But by the looks of their latest viral video, the hilarious ladies behind IMOMSOHARD can totally relate.

Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley have been making us laugh with their super funny viral videos since they first launched their popular Facebook page last year. And by now, it’s pretty clear to moms everywhere that they just GET US.

Take yesterday, for example, when they went off on a wild tangent about all their many guilty pleasures, which ranged from our collective fascination with “murder porn”, pimple-popping videos, the “cozy station”, and even the weird (and super gross) things our husbands do when no one’s around.

The hilarious video begins with Kristin dropping a universal mom truth: “I deserve a little joy, so sometimes I enjoy reading trashy magazines and getting in the middle of celebrity gossip,” she says. “I know you’re not supposed to do that, but I love it.”

Girl, I SO FEEL YOU! I zone out to British comedies at night and mindlessly eat popcorn until I can’t feel my teeth … but I digress.

The guilty pleasures video has hit a serious chord with moms everywhere since it was first posted on November 2. I’ll be honest, though, the part where they discuss pimple-popping videos had me wide-eyed and wanting to hurl. (I cannot with those God awful videos!) But those weird clips continue to be Internet gold, so I guess I’m in the minority. In Kristen’s own words, they make her wanna “barf and orgasm at the same time!” (Hey, to each his own!)

But when the ladies start talking about the “cozy station” is when I really started to wonder if they were reading my mind. I love me some Murder She Wrote or Golden Girls or Designing Women or Wings … (Am I 88 or 38?!) After chasing children around all day who seldom follow directions, cleaning the house, keeping up with my job, grocery shopping, getting to and from doctor’s appointments, and everything else that comes with the territory of modern parenting, I am stupid tired at the end of the day.

So yes, bring on the mindless celeb gossip, the nostalgic TV classics, and all the other guilty pleasures we all know and love. After a long day of momming, I think we deserve it, no?
