J.Lo Returns to Her Maiden Name, Plus 9 Other Stars Who've Done the SameSarah Bernard
Even though J.Lo never used Marc Anthony’s last name publicly — actually, even Mark Anthony doesn’t use it! — after they married back in 2004, she changed her legal name to Jennifer Muniz. They announced their split in July of 2011, and since then both have certainly moved on — J.Lo with dancer Casper Smart and Marc with much younger Topshop heiress Chloe Green. But divorces take a long time, especially in the celebrity world. Marc Anthony had filed some papers a while back. Just this month, J.Lo responded with her filing which included a request for joint legal custody of the couple’s twins, Max and Emme, as well as a request to legally change her name back to Jennifer Lopez. J.Lo is not the only star who has requested to reinstate her maiden name. Here’s a look at 9 others who have made the same move.

J.Lo never used the last name Muniz professionally but she took Mark Anthony's legal last name — the same last name given to their twins Emme Maribel and Maximilian David.

In October 2000 Jennifer legally changed her name to Jennifer Pitt. After she and Brad famously split in 2005, she returned to Aniston. Eva Longoria married basketball star Tony Parker in 2007 in a lavish ceremony at a castle outside of Paris. At the time she revealed that she was thrilled to change her last name to Parker. In November 2010 Eva filed for divorce and kicked Tony's last name to the curb.
Courteney Cox 4 of 10
Courteney and David Arquette met on the set of Scream in 1995. When they married 4 years later, she honored this union by using the last name "Arquette" in the opening credits of Friends. The couple announced their split in 2010 and in June 2012, Courteney officially filed to drop the Arquette.
Rebecca Romijn 5 of 10
When the actress was married to John Stamos, she did the popular hyphenating thing and changed her name to Rebecca Romijn-Stamos. Rebecca dropped the Stamos after they divorced in 2005. It seems like one name change was enough for Rebecca, as she's stuck with Romijn even though she and actor Jerry O'Connell have been married since 2007.
Robin Wright 6 of 10
Heather Locklear 7 of 10
Sometimes the decision to return to your previous name takes a little while. Four years after divorcing Richie Sambora, Heather went back to Locklear in September 2010.

When Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz married in May 2008 — Joe Simpson officiated! — they were already expecting their first child. Bronx Mowgli was born the following November. Ashlee became "Simpson-Wentz" for two-and-a-half years. In February 2011, the singer filed for divorce. She requested primary custody of Bronx and returned to her maiden name.
Pamela Anderson 9 of 10
After Pamela Anderson married Motley Crew drummer Tommy Lee, she took the name Lee until they divorced for good in 1998.
Deryck Whibley 10 of 10
Here's an unusual one: When Canadian rocker Deryck Whibley married Avril Lavine, he changed HIS name to Deryck Jason Lavigne Whibley. The singers divorced in 2009, but it wasn't until this fall, three years after their divorce was finalized and a few months after Avril married Chad Kroger, that Deryck filed papers to officially banish Lavigne from his name.
