Today is September 1, 2015. For some, that date means very little. But to us Potterheads, that date marks the day James Potter, son to Harry and Ginny, boards the train to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to begin his formal wizard education. We can just imagine James nervously kissing mom and dad goodbye on Platform 9 3/4, wand in hand, ready to follow in his famous parents’ footsteps (and devour some pretty delicious treats from the trolley we would guess).
J.K. Rowling, the author of the famous Harry Potter series, was the first to remind her millions of fans across the world of today’s date, tweeting this morning:
Naturally, the Twitterverse exploded with well wishes and excitement — as well as lots of questions. Who is he sitting with on the train? Did he bring an owl? A rat? A cat?! And most importantly: what house was he sorted into?? Rowling, for her part, did not let us down:
While we’re still bummed our letters never came (and we’re not lucky enough to have this awesome teacher who created a Harry Potter-themed classroom for her students), we’re still glad we get to live vicariously.
Now remember, James: when your father was at Hogwarts he defeated Voldemort and won the second Wizarding War (not to mention was a pretty top-notch seeker on the Gryffindor Quidditch team). But no pressure.More On
