Jessica Simpson Threw Her Son an Insane ‘Moana’-Themed Party You Have to See to Believe

It’s pretty clear how far Jessica Simpson will go to make her kids’ birthday party totally epic, after seeing the impressive Moana-themed party she threw over the weekend for her son, Ace Knute.

Trust me, I’ve seen plenty of unique kids’ parties over the years — from clever emoji-themed bashes to My Little Pony parties to slightly eccentric (but awesome) Target and Costco-themed celebrations. However, nothing makes me happier than a classic Disney movie-themed soiree, like this one.

Ace’s official 4th birthday was on Friday, June 30, but the Simpson-Johnson clan pulled out all the stops on Sunday, July 2 to recreate the Isle of Te Fiti (the goddess featured in the film), right in their own backyard. The party featured hired actors to portray Moana and Maui, an island-themed bounce house for guests to play on, and incredible Polynesian-inspired party decorations. My heart melted watching Ace Knute tote around his very own Hei-Hei rooster from the movie — every 4-year-old needs a loyal sidekick!

Moana seems to be quite the hit with celeb kids this year; North West and Penelope Disick shared a Moana themed birthday party just last month. And I can totally see why — it’s all too easy for everyone in the family to get in on the fun. The entire family even decked themselves out in floral prints to mimic the film’s island-vibe, making for a pretty cool family photo. (Of course, the best part might just be Maxwell Drew working that pout.)

Guests also got to snack on cookies depicting the characters, and dig into an incredibly crafted Moana birthday cake. I can’t stop smiling at the sweet moment Grandpa Joe Simpson caught of his grandkids sneaking a taste.

And just when you thought this party couldn’t get more fun, Simpson provided pint-sized guests with a customized tote bag filled with toys! (How awesome is that?) I can almost hear her crooning Maui’s theme song, “You’re Welcome,” as they left her home that evening.

This party would certainly make Moana proud. Great job, Jess — and a very happy birthday to you, Ace!
