When it comes to food, there are few things better than pizza. What’s your go-to take-out order when you’re having a rough week? Pizza. What do you get when you’re hosting a party and need to feed mass quantities of people with limited complaints? Pizza. What would you say if someone told you that you could only have one food — and one food only — for the rest of your life? PIZZA.
See where I’m going with this? Pizza is basically the glue that holds our world together; one of the few simple joys in life we can actually all agree on.
One toddler learned that universal truth this week, and is now going viral for it, thanks to a HILARIOUS photo taken after her first slice of heavenly pizza.
Jody Avirgan, host and producer of the FiveThirtyEight podcast, tweeted the photo of his daughter post-meal sesh/mid-pizza coma on March 3. It has since been retweeted some 62K times. And it’s easy to see why.
The photo shows the little girl with her head back and eyes closed. Her pig-tailed hair sits wild atop her head in a way that only a toddler could somehow manage and remnants of pizza sauce can be seen across her face. Meanwhile, her arms are raised up, almost in praise. And who could blame her? Pizza is a religious experience. And even when it’s not great, it’s still pretty good. How many things in life can you really say that about?
Needless to say, Twitter loved the photo, and many responded with quips like, “I still do this,” and “SAME.”
Others had but one question: “She praying to the pizza Gods?”
Honest answer? Probably. And rightfully so.
“You inspired me,” wrote another. “I’m ordering pizza today, and I’m gonna dance around the kitchen too. We all need a little pizza dancin’.”
We certainly do … and on that note, I think I’m gonna order me a pizza now.
