Julia Louis-Dreyfus posted a beautifully triumphant photo today after breast cancer surgery, and the Internet is roaring with applause.
The surgery is unidentified as of this writing, but needless to say, Louis-Dreyfus looks amazingly healthy and confident — which is not only wonderful for her fans to see, but immensely encouraging for others currently living with cancer.
This also isn’t the first time the 57-year-old actress has taken to social media to give the middle finger to cancer. In late October 2017, she took to Instagram after her second round of chemotherapy:
Obviously, Louis-Dreyfus is not taking her diagnosis lying down and is instead determined to use the situation as an opportunity to lift others up. Given her fighting spirit, it’s also not surprising that she made waves back with her original breast cancer announcement, which she used as a springboard to talk about what she feels is a vital need for universal heathcare.
“The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union,” she noted. “The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.”
The humble concern she displays for others clearly comes back to her in spades — the actress has gotten an outpouring of love and well-wishes from both strangers and loved ones since she began her cancer journey last September. In fact, late last year, she proudly shared a sweet video posted by actors Tony Hale and Timothy Simons, who lip-synched to Katy Perry’s “Roar” as a message of encouragement and support.
With this much positive energy surrounding her, the future looks nothing but bright for this brave lady – and we stand with her every step of the way.
Fight on, Julia.
