Katie Couric Calls New Fiance “Age-Appropriate” — Plus 11 Celebrity Couples for Whom Age Is Just a NumberSarah Bernard
Katie Couric, 56, was admittedly surprised when her boyfriend of over a year, John Molner, 49, proposed. It’s not that she didn’t want to get married. In fact, finding a “life partner” was a goal she says she pursued “with some purpose.” And for a while there it looked as if that goal was going to be realized with a different guy — a much younger guy. Katie dated Brooks Perlin, 17 years her junior, for five years. They even lived together before calling it quits in 2011.
It’s funny because dating a much younger guy made Couric — who certainly looks fantastic at any age — a hero to her legions of fans. But when talking about her current relationship with John, she described their partnership as “a little more age-appropriate.” Hmmm. Maybe age is one of the reasons why her relationship with Brooks went south and why her relationship with John seems to be working. But for many couples, a decade — or two! — of difference is hardly worth noting.
Check out the gallery below of celebrity couples who are going strong even if one was in college when the other was born. Newlyweds Patrick Stewart, 73, and Sunny Ozell, 35, we’re talking about you!
