You probably didn’t ever expect to see a princess this small chasing a bear through the forest … and well, you won’t probably now either, because she’s fast asleep. But thanks to the photographer behind the wildly popular series of newborns dressed as Disney princesses, there’s officially a new tiny princess in town — Merida from Brave!

Just in time for the holidays, Karen Marie of Belly Beautiful Portraits is back at it again. This time, though, she’s brought to life the fearless Scottish heroine we all know and love. She may not have Merida’s incredible red mane (give her time), but with her tiny bow and arrow and intricately sewn green and gold dress, this little one captures the very essence of the timeless tale.

Earlier this year, Karen transformed six adorable babies into the original princesses — Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, Aurora, Belle, and Snow White.

The life-long Disney fan told Babble at the time that she finds constant inspiration from the “tales of love and heroism.”

After her first photo shoot went viral and gained international attention, Karen decided to recreate the magic and hold another photo shoot with new princesses. This time, she created mini versions of Rapunzel, Mulan, Elena, Tiana, Pocahontas, and Moana.

And last month, Babble teamed up with Karen for a whole new spin on her popular series: Baby Disney Villains. Just in time for Halloween, Captain Hook, Ursula, Cruella de Vil, The Evil Queen, Jafar, Gaston, Scar, and even Maleficent all came to life, thanks to Karen and eight of the sweetest newborns we’ve ever seen.

Karen tells Babble that her main goal is to make people happy — both the parents of the babies as well as all the people who see and share her now-famous photographs. She also hopes that her work reminds people of the classic stories that have inspired her work for years.

“I know that these tales tap into real emotion in me,” she shares, “and I hope my images help people remember those feelings.”

They sure do, Karen. They sure do.
