Mom Crush Monday: Jaime King

If there’s one celebrity mom we’re guaranteed to be crushing on this Monday (and every day), it’s Jaime King. The model, actress, fashion designer, wife, and mother has many talents worth bragging about.

King was discovered as a model at age 14, had her first major role in Pearl Harbor, and stole our hearts as the feisty southern belle Lemon in Hart of Dixie. While she’s always wowed us professionally, we love her most for being open about her issues with infertility. She and her husband of eight years, director Kyle Newman, struggled for many years to have children. Now, King is mother to James Knight, 2, and Leo Thames, 5 months, who are two of the cutest kids in Hollywood.

For this week’s Mom Crush Monday, we rounded up King’s take on friendship, motherhood, fashion, and more.

On her choice in Godparents  …

On how she spends her downtime …

On having friends in the delivery room …

In an interview with Cricket’s Circle, King confessed, “I was in labor for 26 hours. My friends saw things that friends should never see. But that’s what friends are for, right?”

On her first born, James Knight …

On how she gets her flawless skin …

On how to raise kids …

King explained,

“It doesn’t matter how you want to raise your kid but that you are conscious in your choice to be loving, responsible, giving, caring and sharing and raise your kid to be the same.”

On her youngest son, Leo Thames …

On the meaning behind her tattoos …

On her children’s clothing line, Sapling Child…

Jaime King describes the collection as,

“It is a story of dreams that were created where land, sky and spirit meet. The collection is inspired by what I hold dear, but it is a universal tale about all dreams. I hope that you and your child can enjoy our story together.”

On making gingerbread houses …

On her husband Kyle Newman …

On judging yourself as a parent …

King wisely said,

“Don’t judge yourself if you aren’t taking your kid to a baby class every day, and don’t judge yourself if you have a bunch of best friends who aren’t parents. Just find the people that love and support you so that you can support yourself and your child.”

On capturing special moments of her sons …

On her favorite furry friend …

On being pregnant in the public eye …

After Kim Kardashian was bashed for her look while pregnant at the Met Ball, Jaime King revealed how she felt in an interview with Elle,

“Nobody’s standing up to say this is wrong. This isn’t right. [Pregnancy] is a very sacred and important moment in someone’s life. [But] the fact is that nobody should be body shamed. Nobody should be torn apart for being too thin or too fat or too this or too that.”
