This Adorable 5-Year-Old Knows Geography Way Better Than We Ever Will

This little kid knows more about the world than I ever will. Literally.

From an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week, 5-year-old Nate Seltzer is wowing the Internet with his impeccable geography knowledge.

The video, shared to the show’s YouTube channel yesterday, has already garnered over 33K likes and 775K views, and it’s not hard to see why. From identifying states, to countries, to flags, this kid knows it all!

He starts with the flags. Now, I don’t know about you, but beyond America, Canada, Japan, and Italy … I’m out. But this little preschooler from Stratford, Connecticut goes on to name the national flags of Chad, Estonia, Yemen, and more. And judging by that huge smile that spreads across his face when answering everything right, he actually enjoys it!

Then, as Ellen pulls out another stack of pictures to quiz him on (right about the time I would get super nervous), this kid excitedly asks, “Is there more?”

This time, Ellen holds up shapes of different countries. And of course, Nate nails them all.

But despite his adroit geographical abilities, the 5-year-old already knows what he wants to be when he grows up, and it has nothing to do with the globe. Nate wants to design cars.

Knowing this, in typical Ellen fashion, the famed TV host brought out the most fitting present for little Nate: a toy car complete with flags and map detailing. The hubcaps are even made of globes! Overjoyed, Nate exclaims, “This is awesome! Mommy has to see this!” (Clearly, his parents are doing something right.)

Congrats on the new ride, Nate. We’re glad your intellect has put you on the map!
