Well, clap your hands because we’ve got some news that’s about to make you real happy. Pharrell Williams is now a proud dad to triplets!
According to PEOPLE, Pharrell Williams and his wife Helen Lasichanh welcomed three new babies in early January. Williams’ rep says that the family is “happy and healthy.” (Though, we’re sure they’re pretty exhausted, too!)
The couple, who have been married since October 2013, announced that they were expecting in September 2016 but didn’t mention how many children they were having. The babies’ arrival makes four kids total for Pharrell and Helen who also have an 8-year-old son named Rocket Ayer, who we’re sure is super excited to be a big brother.
While the names and sex of the babies haven’t yet been revealed, we can expect their monikers to be heartfelt and meaningful. In an interview with Oprah in 2014, Pharrell explained the meaning of Rocket’s name saying, “In the same way the [Native Americans] named their children after a force or animal or element, we named him after a man-made machine that was meant to go up, meant to ascend.”
The award-winning musician has been earning rave reviews recently for his Oscar-nominated film, Hidden Figures. The film tells the true story of mathematicians Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson, black NASA employees who were instrumental in the space race. Pharrell not only earned his first producer credit for the film, but he helped compose the score, and wrote and performed songs for the soundtrack.
But that’s nothing compared to the chaos of three new babies at home, we’re sure. We know one baby is certainly a handful, so our thoughts are certainly with Pharrell and Helen as they tackle their booming careers and four kids.
Here’s to hoping Dad’s song, “Happy” doubles as a dance hit and a lullaby!
