Prince George Is Officially a “Threenager” and We’ve Got Four New Photos to Celebrate!

It’s hard to believe it’s been three years since we all watched a live stream of a hospital door for hours and hours, just waiting to catch a glimpse of the future King of England.

But today, July 22, 2016, really does mark the third birthday of Prince George, son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. And to celebrate the happy occasion, the royal couple has released four portraits taken by photographer Matt Porteous that are beyond precious.

In the photographs, Prince George is seen in a surprisingly “normal” outfit of striped blue T-shirt and blue shorts, the most casual we’ve perhaps ever seen him.

A spokesman for Kensington Palace said, “The Duke and Duchess hope that people will enjoy seeing these new photographs. They would like to thank everyone for all the lovely messages they have received as Prince George celebrates his third birthday.”

And, much to our delight, even the Prince’s dog Lupo makes a special appearance!

The Duke and Duchess would like to thank everyone for all the lovely messages they have received for Prince George’s 3rd birthday, and are delighted to share four new photographs of Prince George to mark his third birthday, taken by photographer Matt Porteous at their home in Norfolk in mid-July.

According to PEOPLE.com, the royal tot is expected to celebrate his birthday with a tea party at his family’s country home, Amner Hall.

A spokesman for Kensington Palace said: “The Duke and Duchess hope that people will enjoy seeing these new photographs. They would like to thank everyone for all the lovely messages they have received as Prince George celebrates his third birthday.”

It has become a bit of a tradition for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to release portraits marking the birthdays of their children, Prince George and of course Princess Charlotte, who had her 1st birthday photos released in May.

The royal birthday comes two weeks after Prince George attended his first royal engagement, the International Air Tattoo, where the plane-loving tot got to see tons of military aircrafts up close. He even had the special privilege of sitting in the cockpit of a Red Arrow Hawk, which is used by the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team for celebratory events such as the Trooping of the Colour.

The Air Tattoo is a fantastic family-orientated event. The Duke and Duchess know that George will enjoy seeing the aircraft up close.

From his birth to his first royal engagement, see all of Prince George’s cutest moments so far!
