Prince George’s Cutest Moments (So Far!)

While it seems like only yesterday we were staring at that infamous wooden door outside St. Mary’s Hospital (for the first time), the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s firstborn Prince George is already a soon-to-be 5-year-old — and full of personality. Today, George is embracing his role as big brother to 3-year-old Princess Charlotte and of course, the newest addition to the royal family: Prince Louis.

In celebration of the future King of England, we’ve rounded up all of Prince George’s cutest moments to look back on so far. (No surprise, it’s already a pretty long list.)

1. His royal debut.

Wearing matching blue outfits, first-time parents Prince William and Duchess Catherine debuted their bundle of joy on the steps of St. Mary’s Hospital in London on July 22, 2013. After waiting with baited breath to catch our first glimpse of the royal baby, we fell in love with little George the moment we first laid eyes on him (and simultaneously marveled at how amazing Kate looks right after having a kid).

2. His first family portrait.

These days, we’re used to seeing little George out and about with his parents and siblings, but little George’s first few months were mostly spent quietly at home with his parents, at their country estate in Anglesey. These first photos, taken by his maternal grandfather Michael Middleton, capture the new family at home in their backyard alongside their beloved dogs (including the famous Lupo!)

3. Getting ready to be christened.

Prince George’s royal christening in October 2013 was a small, intimate affair with just close friends and family. But outside, photographers couldn’t wait to catch a glimpse of 3-month-old Prince George in his christening gown, which was a replica of the one made for Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter Victoria in 1841 that Princess Charlotte also later wore. We’ll never forget how happy his parents looked — and we still can’t get enough of those chubby cheeks!

4. George down under!

When the little prince accompanied his mom and dad on an official royal tour of Australia and New Zealand in April 2014, we saw our first glimpse of his … shall we say, “feisty” personality. While mingling with the other babies at a play group in New Zealand, 9-month-old George reportedly stole a few toys out of their hands, and had to be corrected by his mum. (Ahem, not very “royal,” George!)

5. Showing off some toddler etiquette.

While watching the Trooping of the Colour parade in June 2015, Prince George unintentionally stole the show while watching from a Buckingham Palace window. It’s a moment we’ll never forget, as the adorable tyke playfully stuck out his tongue and eagerly waved to the crowd. His comedic antics continue to win over our hearts.

6. Keeping Mom on her toes.

It’s no secret that toddlers have endless amounts of energy (for better or worse), and this certainly holds true for one of our favorite little royals. At a polo match in 2015, George was seen running about and sliding down hills as his mom chased after him. Clearly, even princes can be a handful!

7. Heading off on holiday.

The Cambridge’s first vacation as a family of four was to the French Alps in March 2016. Is there anything cuter than seeing a couple of kiddos bundled up in some snow suits? We’re not quite sure …

8. Getting the presidential treatment — in his PJs!

How many toddlers can say they’ve met President Obama IRL — while wearing a monogrammed bathrobe and PJs, no less? After the President and First Lady paid the Royals a visit in 2016, Prince George can! (Side note: How badly do you now want to order a pair of those pajamas for yourself?)

9. Showing off his royal wave from the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Once again, all eyes were on George during Queen Elizabeth’s birthday parade in 2016, as he beamed down and happily waved to the crowd (after some encouragement from Dad). It was so sweet to see him alongside Princess Charlotte, playing his new big brother role well.

10. Preparing to take flight.

On July 8, 2016, the royal tyke was seen accompanying his parents to the first day of the International Air Tattoo. George even got to sit in the cockpit of a helicopter, where he donned an adorable pair of kid-sized headphones.

11. Taking on Canada for the Royal Tour.

In September 2016, Prince George joined his parents and baby sister Princess Charlotte on a royal tour of Canada. From his grand entrance to his garden party fun with bubbles, he certainly left Canadians with a memorable visit.

12. Celebrating Christmas with some sweets.

After attending a Christmas Day service at St. Mark’s Church with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Charlotte, and the entire Middleton family, Prince George made headlines for doing what he does best — looking effortlessly adorable. This time, with the help of a candy cane.

Will and Kate — you are not alone. According to photos from a 2017 Royal Tour — showing a very grumpy George — it seems that the Royal parents have quite the sassy little kiddo on their hands.

14. Heading off to school with Dad.

The little prince celebrated a major milestone last year: his first day of school! George was all smiles while Prince William dropped him off at Thomas’s Battersea in September 2017. This would certainly have been a proud moment for Princess Diana, who also famously walked her boys to school every morning and always strived to make their lives as “normal” as possible.

15. Looking dapper at his Uncle Harry’s royal wedding.

If his Aunt Pippa’s 2017 nuptials were any indication, little George loves a good wedding — and his Uncle Harry’s royal wedding on May 19 to actress Meghan Markle was no exception. George proved himself to be a dutiful little page boy, decked out to the nines in formal attire and all smiles as he entered St. George’s Chapel alongside sister Charlotte and other pint-sized bridal party members.

One thing’s for sure: We can’t get over how much George has grown, and can’t wait to follow along as he continues on new adventures.
