The Official Royal Wedding Portraits Are Finally Here — and They’re Absolutely Stunning

From watching a giddy Prince Harry arrive with his big brother William to seeing Meghan Markle — now the Duchess of Sussex — debut her stunning Givenchy wedding gown on the steps of St. George’s Chapel, this past weekend was filled with plenty of iconic royal moments. And the royal fever just keeps on building this week, thanks to the release of the couple’s official royal wedding portraits, which were revealed Monday by Kensington Palace.

The release included three official photographs, taken just after the carriage procession ended, by photographer Alexi Lubomirski at Windsor Castle.

An official tweet from Kensington Palace shared:

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex would like to thank everyone who took part in the celebrations of their wedding on Saturday. They feel so lucky to have been able to share their day with all those gathered in Windsor and also all those who watched the wedding on television across the UK, Commonwealth, and around the world.”

Even if most of us viewed the nuptials on TV (at the crack of dawn, no less!), the royal wedding was filled with lots of special, personal moments that made it feel as though we were all sharing in the day together. And just when we thought we were all out of emotions over this wedding, we may have found ourselves getting a little teary-eyed over these stunning portraits this morning.

The first of the three images was shot in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle, and features the couple’s immediate family — including Prince William, Duchess Catherine, and the Queen herself — as well as the adorable page boys and bridesmaids who took part in the day. Princess Charlotte looked adorable while sitting on her mum’s lap, while Prince George was all smiles to her right. As for Meghan’s mom Doria? She looks as proud as can be.

The couple also posed for a smaller, more spirited photo with their pint-sized royal bridal party members, including a dashing little Prince George, a happy prince Charlotte, and the eight other grinning bridesmaids and page boys, who were all the children of close family members and friends.

But our favorite royal portrait by far? The stunning black and white photo of a beaming Prince Harry, sitting on the stairs of the East Terrace at Windsor Castle behind a smiling Meghan. Just as we saw during the wedding ceremony, their connection is unmistakeable.

Even after this weekend’s nonstop royal wedding coverage, we have to admit we could probably look at snapshots of this photogenic couple all day (and by the looks of the Internet so far this week, we just might!).

Here’s to a happy and healthy future the Duke and Duchess of Sussex — we can’t wait to see what comes next.
