It feels like only yesterday we first heard the news that Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana had finally arrived. But believe it or not, it’s been three whole years (and one more royal baby later) since we were first introduced to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s precious second-born — and we’ve been smitten with all things Charlotte ever since.
In honor of one of our favorite little (royal) ladies, we’re reliving all of the princess’ special moments so far … and believe us, there are lots!
1. Her very royal debut.
Just like we did with George in 2014, and more recently in 2018 when little Louis was born, we spent hours watching the live stream of that infamous door outside of St. Mary’s hospital waiting for a glimpse of the little princess. She finally emerged with her parents less than 12 hours after she was born, and the wait was well worth it.
2. Walking in a winter wonderland.
In 2016, the Royal Family took to the French Alps for their first vacation as a foursome and Charlotte’s first holiday — and she looked snug as a bug in her adorable little snowsuit! The little princess certainly looked like she had the time of her life out in the snow. While she wasn’t quite ready to take the slopes, we’re pretty sure the princess enjoyed catching her first glimpse of snowflakes.
3. Making her balcony debut.
While she hadn’t quite mastered her royal wave, Charlotte certainly had a moment to shine for the British public while making her first balcony debut during the 2016 Trooping of the Colour. Smiling coyly while sucking on her thumb, Kate could be seen soothing her in the big moment. So adorable.
4. Taking on Canada.
In 2016, Charlotte headed to Canada for an official Royal Tour, where she seemed to hae a blast meeting the locals. The little princess played with children from Canadian military families and was dazzled by balloon animals — who wouldn’t be?
5. Ringing in the Christmas holiday.
Like any child on Christmas morning, the young Princess was in great spirits (and impeccably well dressed) as she headed off to church with her family in December 2017. Seriously, can we get that coat in our size?
6. Officially a toddler!
To commemorate her daughter’s second birthday, the Duchess of Cambridge shared an adorable photo of Princess Charlotte taken in May 2017 at the royal family home. Seriously, how cute is her little bob — and that cardigan!
7. Having a mini meltdown (fit for a royal).
While preparing to leave Germany last year, Charlotte had a little case of the Terrible Twos. (Hey, we’ve all been there.) George was happy enough to check out the planes and helicopter, but the princess was simply not having it. We feel you, Will and Kate.
8. Playing the perfect bridesmaid at Aunt Pippa’s wedding.
As many Royal fans may know, the bridal party in a British wedding is usually made up of children rather than adults. It was no surprise then that Princess Charlotte and big brother George were on the scene for Pippa Middleton’s wedding. While Kate’s sister may have looked gorgeous on her big day, we have to admit it was Charlotte that had us smiling from ear-to-ear.
9. Meeting her little brother, Louis!
On April 23, Charlotte became a big sister for the first time — and she was more than ready to take on her new role. Soon after her mom Kate gave birth to Prince Louis, the princess gained another partner. Charlotte wowed the crowd as she arrived to meet her new brother, sweetly waving to the crowd as she headed into the Lindo Wing. Simple too cute!
10. Playing the perfect bridesmaid (again!) in Uncle Harry’s wedding.
Many of us were waiting with baited breath to see what Meghan Markle would wear on her wedding day to Prince Harry, and what the ceremony would be like — but let’s be honest, we were also anxiously awaiting the arrival of little Charlotte and her brother George. Both kids were all smiles in Windsor as they showed up to the nuptials, with Charlotte looking extra precious in her bridesmaid dress. (Not that we were expecting any less!)
Princess Charlotte has always knows how to bring a smile to our faces. We can’t wait to continue to watch her grow.
