If you’re still experiencing some major Stranger Things withdrawal, I feel your pain. (I binge-watched the second season in a single weekend, and it was over WAY too soon.) But you’re also in luck: The brilliant folks over at Sesame Street have dropped yet another hilarious show parody, this time taking viewers into the mysterious world of the Snackside Down (get it?). And let’s just say, it is everything you could have hoped for, and more.
The clip, which opens along with a sampling of the Netflix show’s spooky, ’80s-inspired soundtrack, is called Sharing Things, and as you might have guessed, it’s aimed at teaching kids the importance of sharing. Right away, we meet Cookiegorgon, who’s hopelessly obsessed with Eggos, and crosses over into to the real world on Halloween night, in search of some more snacks.
There, he bumps into Hopper, who’s investigating that whole rotten pumpkin debacle, and follows Dustin, Lucas, Will, and Mike (played by Ernie, Grover, and the gang) back to Will’s house.
I won’t spoil too much for you, but the whole thing is pretty enjoyable from start to finish, with most of the show’s beloved characters making an appearance.
Heck, even Barb makes a cameo!
The best part by far, though? When Eleven’s sister shows up — the aptly named, Eight.
By now, the popular kids’ show is no stranger to parodying some of our favorite grown-up shows. Just last month, Sesame Street parodied The Walking Dead, and earlier this year, the show released a Real Housewives spin, titled, The Real Grouchos of Sesame Street. In fact, you’d be hard-pressed to find a show they haven’t parodied, from Game of Thrones to Homeland to True Blood.
No complaints here, though — keep ’em coming, guys!
