Sir Bob Geldof’s Daughter Peaches Dies at Age 25

LAST PICTURES - Peaches Geldof at the F&F Catwalk April 3rd, the last time she was photographed before passing away Monday Peaches Geldof, the celebrity daughter of musician Sir Bob Geldof (the man behind Live Aid) and the late TV presenter Paula Yates, has died at age 25.

A former wild-child, Peaches eventually settled down in her second marriage and became a successful DJ, journalist, and broadcaster. After becoming a mom of two small boys — Astala, 20 months, and Phaedra, 10 months — she had taken time out to raise her young family. She frequently tweeted shots of her sons, always so proud and full of joy as her new role as a mother.

Police say they were called to an address near Wrotham, Kent, U.K. following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman on Monday afternoon. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by South East Coast Ambulance Service. “At this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained and sudden,” said a statement from Kent Police.

Her father has released a heartbreaking statement saying,

“Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing ‘was’ destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken. Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.”

Meanwhile, Peaches’ husband Thomas Cohen from punk band S.C.U.M., has said:

“My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever. Thomas Astala and Phaedra Geldof-Cohen.”

Singer Lilly Allen has already tweeted her condolences: “My thoughts are with Peaches’ family at this awful time. I hope they get to grieve in peace. Peaches, rest in peace gorgeous girl.”

Likewise, Boy George tweeted: “Poor sweet Peaches Geldof. We spoke only a month ago and she looked like an angel. This is truly sad. Poor Bob! R.I.P.”

Poignantly, Peaches’ last tweet was yesterday morning — a photo of her as a child with her late mother, Paula Yates. Yates died of an overdose in 2000 when Peaches was 11, on her sister Pixie’s 10th birthday.

Peaches had an older sister, Fifi Trixabelle, and two younger sisters — Pixie, and Tiger, who was Paula’s daughter with INXS frontman Michael Hutchence.
