Spider-Man and Spider-Baby Have a Dance ContestDresden Shumaker
Spider-Man has some pretty good moves!
Remember that amazing Evian ad from 2009 with “Roller Babies” zipping around the city reminding us to stay young? Then in 2013 the fancy water company created the most-watched ad on YouTube. I believe it! I’ve watched the first ad so many times I could probably skate it in my sleep. Somewhere in the back of my mind I am aware that it’s an ad, but truthfully I just know that I am happy.
The newest ad is a promotional tie-in to the soon-to-be-released film The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Like the 2013 ad which featured grownups dancing with baby versions of themselves in front of a mirror, this ad shows Spider-Man encountering “Spider-Baby” in front of a mirror. OBVIOUSLY the new start to dance.
We don’t need this to be rational, it’s just cute. It’s Spider-Man as a BABY! And he’s DANCING! Adorbs. Wait … what do you want me to buy? No idea.
If it’s an actual clip of the film you are looking for, MTV has just started hinting they have the goods. The 2014 MTV Movie Awards will air on April 14th and during the broadcast Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Jamie Foxx will introduce an exclusive clip of the as yet-to-be-released film.
News of the soundtrack is also getting us excited. Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer produced song together. YES. Just thinking about that collaboration makes me so enthusiastic. Then it gets better: Alicia Keys and Kendrick Lamar sing the Pharrell/Hans song. Spin describes “It’s On Again” as opening with, “Lamar’s spitfire rhyming over Keys’ piano and Hans Zimmer’s orchestra, then morphs into an R&B/disco hybrid, most likely thanks to Pharrell.”
The Amazing Spider-Man comes out in just over a month, and I am predicting we will be navigating lots of creatively spun webs to entice us into the theater!
