Steel Magnolias is a hands down classic, in more ways than one. Who could forget Shirley MacLaine as the perpetually unpleasant Ouiser? Or the delightfully awkward Annelle, played by Darryl Hannah? Or that weird AF armadillo cake that looked like a major Pinterest fail?
We belly laughed every time Truvy (Dolly Parton) dropped one of her beauty-themed life lessons at Truvy’s Beauty Spot and ugly cried when Shelby (Julia Roberts) died at the end — every. single. time. We also collectively lusted after that gorgeous Louisiana home where M’Lynn (Sally Field) lives in the film. You know, the one where Shelby gets married in one of the opening scenes to the dreamy Jackson Latcherie (Dylan McDermott). Which is why I was PSYCHED to see that the home is now a bed and breakfast that you can actually stay in.
The Steel Magnolia House sits on a quiet street in the charming town of Natchitoches, Louisiana. There, you can eat breakfast in the kitchen where M’Lynn first learns Shelby is pregnant, sip tea from the front porch, or stroll through the gorgeous halls and foyers that we only got a sneak peek of in the film.
You can also stay in one of six suites within the home — all named after characters from the film, and reportedly packed with memorabilia from the 1989 classic.
I mean … can you say GIRLS’ TRIP?!
Guess this means my summer plans are SET.
